Currently the center offers service in the design, creation, production, and analysis of research-grade lentiviral vectors for gene transfer or knock-down and non-GMP quality control testing including vector titer by functional assay or ELISA.
HIV-based lentiviral vectors are available to University of Haifa investigators, as well as exterior users. These vectors are self inactivating thus replication incompetent. The virus is produced through transfection of a shuttle, two backbone plasmids and an envelope vector. The viral vectors are concentrated to high titers by ultra-centrifugation.
Viral vectors can be ordered from existing stocks or can be custom made.
